Questa tecnica di produzione, brevettata alla fine del 1800 da Charles Goodyear, prevede là¢Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚ ¬Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚ ¢uso di un guardolo in morbida pelle, lungo tutto il perimetro della scarpa, che viene cucita al bordo di una soletta in pelle, unendo cosଠanche tomaia e fodera interna della scarpa. Successivamente, viene aggiunta una soletta intermedia isolante e riempitiva nello spazio creato tra la soletta e la suola. - Nella seconda fase di questo processo, lo stesso guardolo viene fissato anche alla suola.
